Hi everyone!
Is it really almost mid-March?! How have you all been? I hope this month started off on a good note for you and your loved ones. As you may or may not know, I like to focus on a theme for the month and this month's theme is Restoration. If you haven't already, take a thorough look at the KepPicks found on the home page: keptalk.com.
I'm eager to share my ideas about restoration and the impact it has on our well-being but before I get into that I'm providing journal prompts that I know will help prepare your mind this month as we dive deeper. Let's see how many you can work on before next week!
Remember journaling provides a valuable outlet for self-expression, reflection, and personal growth. If you fall in the category of people that do not like to write, you should look into digital and/or audio journaling. Different method but same results! The goal in why we journal will always remain the same - to facilitate self-discovery, introspection, and mindfulness.
Journal prompts centered around the theme of the month - RESTORATION:
Consider your dietary habits and their effects on your wellness. What changes can you make to promote restoration through nutrition?
Describe a place or environment where you feel most rejuvenated and restored. What about it brings you comfort and renewal?
Reflect on the things you are grateful for in your life. How can you focus on gratitude more regularly to promote feelings of restoration?
Reflect on the importance of setting boundaries to protect your well-being. How can establishing healthy boundaries contribute to your sense of restoration?
Describe your support system and how it contributes to your restoration and wellness journey. Who can you turn to for encouragement and guidance?
Reflect on a past experience of overcoming adversity. How did resilience play a role in your restoration and well-being?
Think back to a time when you witnessed God's restorative power in your relationships. How did His grace and mercy mend and revive a connection that seemed strained or fractured?
Write about a recent self-care practice that brought you a feeling of restoration. How did it positively impact your overall wellness?
Explore the concept of spiritual restoration as depicted in Psalm 23, focusing on the imagery of God as a shepherd who restores the soul. Reflect on times when you have felt spiritually depleted or lost, and how God has provided guidance, comfort, and renewal in those moments.
Consider the importance of rest and relaxation in your life. How can you incorporate more moments of restorative rest into your daily routine?
Bonus prompt
Explore the concept of communal restoration as depicted in the story of Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 1-6). Reflect on the importance of community support, collaboration, and perseverance in overcoming obstacles and restoring brokenness within a community. How can you apply the lessons from this story to foster restoration and unity within your own community or social circle?
These prompts are designed to encourage self-reflection and exploration, ultimately supporting your journey towards restoration and well-being. If you think of other prompts, feel free to add them to this list and even share them with me. We're in this together!
I'll be back next Monday to share how the concept of restoration should be applied to our spiritual wellness, mental wellness, physical wellness, and emotional wellness. Stay tuned!
Love,
Keps
