Nurturing Confidence: A Guide to Raising a Confident Child - Part 2

Please note: This applies to not only children that you may have given birth to but it applies to anyone in your life that you play a leadership role in their life. Think of your godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, mentees, etc.

Hello KepTalk Family,

Ready for Part 2?! I trust and believe you are experiencing the goodness of God this week. I've come to realize one of the most important jobs I have as a mother is to pray for my children. Praying for my children (biological and non-biological) consistently with intention is something I started taking seriously in the last few years. I can be very transparent with you family and let you know that I was actually very lazy and ultimately careless with my prayer life. My wake up call came hard and quick but I'm extremely grateful for it. I needed that wake up call.

I'm still growing and definitely no where near perfection but my desires in life have changed drastically. I just want to make my Heavenly Father smile and clocking in to do one of the most important jobs as a mother is what I'm focused on doing. My prayer for you and I is that we do not fail God and do what is required of us as we raise our children to be mighty men and women of God.

KepTalk will be releasing merchandise such as prayer cards for children, family, spouses etc. that I hope you all will love and use. While we wait for those to be released, I want you to know that praying specific scriptures over your children can be a powerful way to invoke God's guidance and blessings in their lives, fostering confidence, strength, and a positive self-image. Below are some scriptures you might consider incorporating into your prayers for raising confident children. Insert your name, child's name, nieces name, nephews name, etc. - this is essential. Say their name with boldness.

1. Psalm 139:14 (NIV):

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Prayer: Lord, thank you for creating my child fearfully and wonderfully. May they always recognize and embrace the uniqueness with which You have designed them.

2. Philippians 4:13 (NIV):

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, empower my child with the confidence that comes from knowing they can do all things through You who gives them strength.

3. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV):

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Prayer: Lord, may my child trust in You wholeheartedly. Guide their steps and instill in them a confidence that comes from submitting to Your wisdom.

4. Joshua 1:9 (NIV):

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Prayer: Father, instill in my child strength and courage. May they face challenges with confidence, knowing that You are always with them.

5. Psalm 19:14 (NIV):

"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

Prayer: Lord, may the words my child speaks and the thoughts they harbor reflect confidence, positivity, and a heart that pleases You.

6. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV):

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Prayer: Father, as my child places their hope in You, renew their strength, and help them soar to new heights with unwavering confidence.

7. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV):

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Prayer: Lord, may my child understand that they are Your masterpiece, created for a purpose. Instill in them confidence as they walk in the good works You've prepared for them.

8. Psalm 27:1 (NIV):

"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?"

Prayer: Heavenly Father, be the light and salvation in my child's life. May they walk confidently, free from fear, knowing that You are their stronghold.

9. Romans 12:2 (NIV):

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Prayer: Lord, transform my child's mind. May they find confidence in aligning with Your will rather than conforming to worldly patterns.

10. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV):

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Prayer: Father, as my child faces challenges, may they cast all anxieties upon You, finding confidence in the knowledge that You deeply care for them.

Incorporating these scriptures into your prayers can create a foundation of faith and confidence for your children, reinforcing their identity as beloved children of God. I challenge you to pray with your children and teach them these scriptures so they can stand on these verses whenever it's needed in life. Our children are blessed! Our children's children are blessed! Each generation attached to you is blessed! Amen.

No part 3 but reflect on part 1 and 2 and feel free to send me an email at keptalk@gmail.com with your thoughts. I look forward to hearing from you!
