Restoration + Wellness: Let's Get Deeper (Part 3)

Updated: Apr 1, 2024

Happy Easter!

As you may or may not know, today is a day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For me, a day like this is filled with immense hope and joy as it symbolizes our ability to leave behind our past and embrace a fresh start with Christ. Christianity demands a shift in perspective, but the spiritual renewal we experience and the promise of resurrection give us every reason to rejoice. I'm confident that despite life's challenges, you and I will find eternal happiness with God. It's no surprise that many believers keep praising Jesus, even in the face of hardship and adversity, because we hold onto a greater hope and promise. I encourage you to never let go and continue this journey of victory!

The last blog post of the series couldn't be released on a better day. I'm telling you - ALL things work together for my good. Always. We've been discussing our theme of restoration/renewal all month and we've finally come to the end. Today I'll focus solely on spiritual restoration but before I get into what it is, why it's important, and how it can be applied to life, I want to share a life changing experience with all of you. Does that sound too dramatic?! I've been told that I could be a little dramatic lol but you get my drift. If you want to catch up on Part 1 & 2, please see my previous blogs.

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending an event (video at the very end) that I'm still recovering from. Shout out to Minister Dunsin Oyekan! I had a time! If you click on the video below, you'll see that the event was over five hours long. FIVE HOURS! Every second in that auditorium was worth it. I needed a spiritual renewal like never before and this experience did what needed to be done. I've been trying to think of one word to sum up my experience and the only word I could come up with is...explosive. The worship was explosive! The band was explosive! The message was explosive! The atmosphere was explosive! Even the favor that I received was explosive! I set intentions even before I left my house and it was to love on God like never before. Now don't get me wrong, we should love on our Heavenly Father no matter the environment but at times events like this are necessary to realign yourself again. I needed that realignment. What a night!! Alright, let's get into spiritual restoration!

Yes, that's me screaming "Ayeeeeeee" LOL

Spiritual Restoration

What is spiritual restoration?

Sometimes, we feel broken, distant from God, longing for forgiveness and a fresh start. We need renewal—a path back to a strong and fulfilling relationship with God. Spiritual restoration isn't about going back to some idealized past or a supposed golden age of faith. It's about rediscovering your connection with God and embracing His salvation, ultimately becoming the person He has always intended us to be. God is continually renewing us and transforming us as individuals of faith, recognizing that we never reach a state of complete perfection.

On this personal level, this type of restoration replaces spiritual decay with spiritual life. But we not only receive a new type and quality of life, but we should also grow in it. The Holy Spirit serves as the catalyst for restoration. In many verses, we see this process of growth reflected as a work of the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit, God continues and perfects the work that began with our salvation.

Why is spiritual restoration important?

Spiritual restoration, facilitated by God's grace and love, holds paramount importance for people seeking deeper connection with God. It serves as a pathway to rekindle and strengthen one's relationship with God, offering healing for spiritual wounds, clarity of purpose, and personal transformation. Through this process, we experience growth in virtues such as humility, compassion, and forgiveness, empowering us to serve others and navigate life's challenges with resilience and faith. Ultimately, spiritual restoration aligns us with God's will, fostering obedience and intimacy, and leading to a profound sense of wholeness and fulfillment in our lives.

However, to experience restoration and renewal, we need spiritual reinforcement around our hearts so that God can rebuild us from within to shine His light outwardly. Interestingly, as God reconstructs the walls of our hearts, we become open again to Him and to others, fostering a spirit of generosity and openness. By honestly confessing to God, we begin the journey toward restoration, leading to the revival of joy in our lives. While restoration takes time, the prospect of joy makes the journey worthwhile.

How can this be applied to my life?

  • Seeking God Daily: Make a habit of seeking God daily through prayer, meditation, and reflection. Invite God into your life, asking for guidance, healing, and renewal.

  • Self-Reflection: Take time for self-reflection to identify areas in your spiritual life that may need restoration. Reflect on past experiences, struggles, and wounds, and seek God's healing and forgiveness.

  • Embracing Spiritual Practices: Incorporate spiritual practices such as reading scripture, attending worship services (perfect example is what I attended last Friday), participating in prayer groups, and serving others into your daily life. These practices can help deepen your relationship with God and nurture spiritual growth.

  • Embracing Growth Opportunities: Be open to growth opportunities that come your way, whether through challenges, relationships, or new experiences. Embrace the lessons they offer and allow them to contribute to your spiritual growth and restoration.

  • Practicing Forgiveness: Extend forgiveness to yourself and others for past mistakes and hurts. Release resentment and bitterness, and allow God's grace to heal and restore relationships.

  • Living with Intention: Live with intention and purpose, aligning your actions with God's will and values. Seek opportunities to serve others and make a positive impact in your community.

  • Staying Connected: Stay connected to a supportive community of faith where you can find encouragement, accountability, and spiritual nourishment. Engage in meaningful conversations, worship, and fellowship with others on the journey of spiritual restoration.

  • Trusting God's Timing: Trust in God's timing and faithfulness as you walk through the process of spiritual restoration. Be patient and persistent, knowing that God is at work in your life, bringing about renewal and transformation in His perfect timing.

  • Living in Alignment with God's Will: Seek to align your thoughts, words, and actions with God's will for your life. Surrender your desires and ambitions to Him, and allow His Spirit to guide and direct your path.

  • Cultivating Virtues: Intentionally cultivate virtues such as humility, compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude in your interactions with others. Practice empathy and kindness, and strive to extend grace and love to those around you.

  • Facing Challenges with Faith: When facing challenges or difficulties, lean on your faith and trust in God's providence. Remember that spiritual restoration builds resilience, enabling you to navigate life's ups and downs with courage and hope.

  • Sharing Your Journey: Be open to sharing your journey of spiritual restoration with others. Offer support and encouragement to those who may be struggling, and bear witness to the transformative power of God's love and grace in your life.

By applying these principles to life, you can experience deep spiritual restoration, leading to greater intimacy with God, personal growth, and fulfillment in your journey of faith. I've also provided Bible verses to study, reflect on, and even memorize if desired to do so. See below.

The camera caught me a few times! I was parked nicely in the front row! Providing just in case you want to watch; you can always break the video up in parts.

Thank you all for the continued support and love. The feedback I've received so far has been so motivating for me. I'm committed to pushing forward. Once again, Happy Easter! God bless and keep you and everyone connected to you good health, sound mind and perfect peace. The month of April will favor you. The month of April will be filled with joy.
